How to Record Days Spent Working on One Task at a Time

Want to remember when you made time for one task without juggling several at once? X Calendar - Daily Routine Log lets you mark those work days on your iPhone with a simple X.

Can I track single-tasking days without a detailed diary?

You might choose a writing session, a report review or a project problem that needs attention. Create a calendar for the session and mark it after you finish the time you planned. You do not need to record every interruption or explain your whole workday.

For Single-Task Sessions, add an X after your planned work block. The task itself can still need more work. A session on Tuesday and another on Friday can both appear in the same calendar, while your task manager keeps the unfinished job and its deadline.

How do I use X Calendar to record single-tasking days?

To start tracking single-task sessions, open X Calendar on your iPhone. Give the activity its own calendar so you can find the dates quickly later. Then make the first entry after the activity or completed day you want to record.

For Single-Task Sessions, it can be easiest to make the entry soon after you finish your planned session on one task. If you remember later, add the actual date only when you know it. The calendar can still be useful without filling every blank square. Keeping the dates honest means you can come back weeks later and understand what the marks are reminding you of.

  • Create a calendar called Single-Task Sessions.
  • After you finish your planned session on one task, tap that date to add an X.
  • Open Single-Task Sessions whenever you want to see the dates you have marked.

What can I see when I look back at single-tasking days?

Looking back gives you a reminder of the dates you made room for this way of working. You can see the sessions without estimating them from old documents or messages. If a timer is useful, use it separately; X Calendar keeps the completed dates visible in an easy calendar view.

A completed session and a completed task can be two separate things. You might spend your planned time on a difficult report and still need another session. The calendar can remember the workday, while the task list remembers what remains. That keeps the date entry honest and useful, without requiring the whole job to be finished before any focused work is visible.

You can record a completed work session even when the larger task is not finished yet.
